I want you so bad. Please drop $100, then I’d gladly give you a nice home in my comfy closet and on my feet. I promise I would love you forever. Amen.
Here’s my problem: I’m a little picky when it comes to shorts. And when I say a little picky, I mean I literally have two pairs I’m willing to wear. When I was younger I used to just wear jeans in the summer because I hated how shorts looked on me. And that’s because I was shopping at American Eagle and their shorts are literally like two inches long and your butt hangs out more with every step you take. I just couldn’t do it.
So now that I’ve expanded my shopping horizons I’ve gotten some more options. Obviously Target is a favorite, but even theirs can be super short. I usually like my shorts (and when I’m talking about shorts here, I’m talking about denim shorts, cutoffs and what have you) not so short with a cuff at the bottom. Therein lies my problem. I like my shorts to have just a little bit of wear or something, so they’ll look a little worn in and comfy.
I really really do not like these shorts:
They fit most of the criteria I’ve set: they’re not baby shorts, they’re a darkish/medium wash, they have a little wear, and they’re cut-offs. But they don’t have the cuff. And they fray too much at the ends, so it just looks like I bought them like that…which just kills me.
I also like my shorts to be super relaxed so that if I sit down or do any kind of activity they won’t cut into my legs, which seems to be a problem no one in the shorts designing community understands. For instance, these seem way too close to the leg for my taste.
Not that there is anything with liking these shorts. I’m just ridiculously picky when it comes to my own shorts. On other people, these shorts would probably be totally fine. And I might even like them on you. But not me.
Here’s my dilemma: I’ve found my dream shorts. I know where to get them. They’re in my size. They’re in stock…but they’re so out of my budget for a pair of worn-in looking, denim shorts it’s ridiculous. As in $80-$170. Someone help me out and say that J. Crew or Shopbop will have a 50% off sale because I need it now. Like right now.
I’m dying over the shorts in some of these pictures. So jealous.
Hi y’all! I’m sorry I haven’t been posting as much lately- it’s exam week and I’ve been studying my butt off trying to get through the last steps of my classes! It’ll all be over tomorrow, though, so fear not! I have my last and hardest exam (accounting, ugh) at 2:00, so please send me good vibes! I’ll be back regularly soon since my summer break is mere hours away and I’ll have plenty of time to devote to the blog.
Though I’m nowhere close to getting married, I’m pretty much obsessed with all things weddings. Maybe y’all have noticed? I love pouring over the details in the catering, the cake, the decorations, the dress, and pretty much every other little possibility there is in a couple’s nuptials. Unfortunately, no matter how much I like to dream, not everyone can have that $50,000 dream wedding. In browsing through some of my favorite wedding blogs and websites I stumbled upon Wedding Chicks blog, which hosts photos from real weddings as well as wedding ideas for future brides. One thing I’m L-O-V-I-N-G about their site is they have a whole section just for DIY and free downloadable projects! I’m being realistic in my future wedding plans, so knowing that this website has such pretty (and budget-friendly) invites, place cards, and other papers makes me so happy! Check out some of their free templates!
